Shedding Light Upon “Lizard People: Death Valley Underground”

Weber: The Contemporary West published my literary essay “Into the Void And We Shall Follow” in the Fall of 2021. I centered this nonfiction story on the eccentric characters surrounding the Lizard People legend within Death Valley National Park’s Panamint Mountains. I could not allow this intriguing tale, with so much potential, to lie after only one nonfiction short story. It cried out for elaboration, expansion, and full-length novelization. Lizard People: Death Valley Underground is the entertaining result.

Set in Death Valley National Park’s remote wilds, “Lizard People: Death Valley Underground” is an intriguing mystery novel that lies within the borderlands between American Gothic, ancient cosmic forces, government conspiracies, and off-centered antisocial misfits struggling to survive in a brutal desert wilderness.
