Tradition, consistency, and sameness bring comfort and peace to many people and communities. However, time’s arrow rarely allows us to remain static. When communities change, some improve and become better, while others get thrown onto history’s trash heap. Sometimes change results from natural evolution, but sometimes it is forced upon us for more nefarious ulterior reasons.
